What are Workflows?
Workflows are the business process in automated form. Workflows are made up by one or more Lifecycles.
What is a Lifecycle?
A Lifecycle is part of the business process. Documents enter the Lifecycle, are interacted with by users or automation, and leave. Multiple Lifecycles can function together to create a complete business process. Lifecycles are a collection of workflow queues and transitions.
What is a Workflow Queue?
Workflow queues represent the state of a document or the function that is occurring with the document. Specific activities can take place in each queue, the end result which will be the removal of the document from the queue to another queue, from the workflow process, or from OnBase. Queues are connected to one another with transitions.
What is a Document Type?
A document is a piece of information that your organization has chosen to store electronically in the system. Letters, contracts, scanned images of contracts, photographs, and e-mail messages are all examples of documents.
Documents can be retrieved based on Keyword Values that are associated with the document. Storing documents in the system eliminates the need for paper documents. Documents can be revised, viewed, annotated, and tracked within the system.
